The Hub Opening Event
What an fantastic afternoon it was on St. George’s Day, 23rd April, in Huntingfield. Young and old alike came along to gaze in amazement at a 3 metre high elephant at the entrance to The Hub. Thanks to Rob Harries of Airtechs for supplying this great inflatable to enhance the site.
The Sole Bay Jazz Trio thoroughly enjoyed entertaining the host of residents from Huntingfield, Heveningham, Ubbeston and many others from further afield.
We were pleased to welcome Therese Coffey (MP) and Stephen Burroughes (SCC and SCDC) who have both been extremely supportive of the project to put the life back into our villages through the construction of a new village hall.
It was delightful to see so many children enjoying the afternoon while older residents were able to sit and chat while enjoying a glass of wine (courtesy of the Co-operative in Halesworth and Tesco in Saxmundham). A buffet was provided by the Huntingfield Arms.
A raffle of a BBQ (courtesy of Tesco) and a table grill (courtesy of a resident) raised £150 towards The Hub funds.
There will be many new activities to enjoy at The Hub – Pilates has now started on Tuesday mornings, while Yoga begins on 8th June. See Whats on at The Hub for more details. Film Nights are planned while Table Tennis will be up and running again shortly as will the Youth Club. So look out for notices on this web site, outside The Hub and in the Huntingfield Hare.
